A new show at last!

At last… we’re off again! We have started our first exhibition post-lockdown. On the gallery walls: fascinating new pictures by Philip Winstone and Debra Sweeney. Also on display: superb new ceramics (porcelain as well as stoneware) by Steve Neville.

Current circumstances prevented our arranging a preview evening, so the next best thing, perhaps, is to put the paintings on line – and that is what we have done… Do have a look at them at https://gallerypoundbury.co.uk/current-exhibition/

Cool paintings, hot ceramics

Starting on Saturday March 23 in the gallery: new paintings from Philip Winstone and ceramics from Jerry and Catherine Broadway of Elm House Studio.

Philip has been a regular exhibitor at Gallery On The Square since we first showed his work in 2016. His distinctive form of semi-abstraction, inspired by the coast, is characterised by a cool, subtle palette and focus on texture.

The artists will be in the gallery between around 1pm and 3pm if you would like to say hello and talk to them about their work.

We’re expecting some of the pots to be arriving on Saturday morning hot out of the kiln! A technical malfunction prevented them from being fired earlier in the week…

New dimensions

Bridport-based sculptor Brendon Murless joins Charmouth painter Philip Winstone in our excellent current show in the gallery, running until April 25. Plus beautiful new glass from our favourite glass blower, Bob Crooks. If you’re anywhere nearby, please call in! If you aren’t nearby, well, it’s worth going out of your way! In our opinion, anyway…

Summer Exhibition 2017

It’s Summer Show time in the Gallery!

New paintings by Colin Willey, Sarah Jack, John Boyd, Philip Winstone and Angela Goodman; beautiful fresh ceramics from Richard Wilson, Elm House Studio and Rob Whelpton; magnificent glass from our very favourite glass blower, Bob Crooks.

The show goes an until the end of August, and things will change from time to time; as things sell, we introduce new elements and reshuffle…
